In which year did you start your wedding planning business and which reasons made you start working in this job?
Island Bliss Weddings first began in the summer of 2005, allthough it was “born” in my mind in fall 2004. I started Island Bliss Weddings at the time I started to plan my wedding. I met a lot of other brides online who were also looking for help with their weddings in the US Virgin Islands and things began to snowball from there.

Do you work alone or in a team?
My husband is a co-owner and is a tremendous help with our weddings. I work directly with my brides on all planning aspects but often hire additional help on the wedding day.

In which languages can you take care of your customers?
English only.

What are the main regions where you are planning weddings?
We mainly plan weddings in the US Virgin Islands – St. Thomas & St. John.

What are your personal favourites regarding:
a) a location for a destination wedding in your home region?
The beaches in the US Virgin Islands are absolutely stunning backdrops for your ceremony!

b) a location for a destination wedding in the rest of the world?
I always thought being married amongst the vineyards in Napa Valley would be beautiful, but I’m not that much of a wine drinker!

c) a location for a wedding reception in your home region?
We work with a lot of different venues in the islands for the reception. I love a location that has an outdoors feel to it, with an amazing view!

d) a location for a wedding reception in in the rest of the world?
Any place you can see the ocean and the stars!

e) a country / region / hotel for a honeymoon?
I definitely recommend a sailboat honeymoon – sailing around the US or British Virgin Islands!

Have you organised weddings for prominent people?
We like to keep details private for our clients!

Have you organised weddings for couples from outside your country?
Yes! We have organized weddings for couples from Canada, Chile, Brazil, England, Scotland, France and South Africa!

Which strengths of your company would you like to mention?
We are a small company and treat every client and every wedding as if it were our own wedding. We understand the importance of this day and how much planning is involved to make it perfect – I think our services reflect that understanding.

Could you tell us a little story about something special that you have experienced during your work as a wedding planner? There are so many wonderful and funny stories that could be shared about our weddings. But I really think each wedding has a magical moment. For me, it’s when I tell a bride it’s time to walk down the aisle. Each bride is different, some are nervous, some are excited, some are scared, some are calm, but they all share an amazing look in their eye – that dreamed about journey down the aisle to marry the man of their dreams…it’s a beautiful look and one I feel very honored to witness.
