Dubrovnik Event

The Weddingparadises.com - interview with:
Ines Nanic, Dubrovnik Event

In which year did you start your wedding planning business and which reasons made you
start working in this job?
I started with wedding planning and generally event management in 2004 and opened my own business in 2008 after making sure I had the right and in depth know how and all best suppliers this area can offer.

Do you work alone or in a team?
We work in a team, there is 3 of us- me as a planning wizard, my husband Marin who is operational wizard and our assistant and fantastic wedding and event coordinator Ivona who is icing on the cake to ensure once again nothing is left to chance.

In which languages can you take care of your customers?
Croatian, English, German, Italian and French.

What are the main regions where you are planning weddings?
Dubrovnik and the surrounding area- islands of Kolocep, Lopud, Sipan and Mljet.

What are your personal favourites regarding:
a) a location for a destination wedding in your home region?
Island of Mljet, a natural reserve. Unspoilt nature, amazing greenery and clear blue sea. What a better ambiance to have for a perfect wedding?
b) a location for a destination wedding in the rest of the world?
New York. Completely different, elegant, classy and urban.
c) a location for a wedding reception in your home region?
This is such a difficult questions as Dubrovnik really is by itself a perfect backdrop for a stunning and memorable wedding. One of my favorites is medieval Sponza Palace in the very heart of the Old Town, with its monumentalism, medieval arcades and open roof top to show clear blue skies it captures hearts of couples and guests worldwide.
d) a location for a wedding reception in in the rest of the world?
?
e) a country / region / hotel for a honeymoon?
Cabo Verde.

Have you organised weddings for couples from outside your country?
Majority of our clients is from abroad: Ireland, UK, USA, Italy, Slovenia, India, Russia, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Spain and the list goes on…

Which strengths of your company would you like to mention?
We are a reliable market leader in wedding planning industry in Croatia; being a family owned company we truly do pay all of the possible attention to the little details and making a personal touch to the wedding. It may be enough to say that we are still in touch with absolutely all of our clients, congratulating them on each of their anniversaries and staying in touch for years.

Could you tell us a little story about something special that you have experienced during your work as a wedding planner?
We once organized a wedding at a hotel where Dick Cheney, then Vice President of the USA was staying. We had to coordinate seating plan, arrival times, dances and pretty much every single detail with secret service. It turned out to be a fantastic event and the wedding guests barely felt the level of security surrounding them. It has been a truly challenging project for us though and one we will never forget.
