The Weddingparadises.com interview with: Ina Tuchel, Wedding4you.dk

In which year did you start your wedding planning business and which reasons made you
start working in this job?

I started my wedding planning agency "Wedding4you" in 2002 and have expanded my business further in 2008 by launching "Scandinavian Weddings" giving foreign couples the possibility of getting married in Copenhagen.

Do you work alone or in a team?
I started out working on my own but my team grew over the years and at the moment we are a team of 3 people.

In which languages can you take care of your customers?
We are taking care of our customers in Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, English and German.

What are the main regions where you are planning weddings?
Our main regions of business is of course Scandinavia, but we started planning weddings in southern Europe on request of our customers.

What are your personal favourites regarding:
a) a location for a destination wedding in your home region?
Looking at my home region I would definitely say Copenhagen - and the castle 'Næsbyholm Slot' , which is a charming and romantic castle on the outskirts of Copenhagen. www.naesbyholmslot.dk
b) a location for a destination wedding in the rest of the world?
Thinking about a wedding destination in the rest of the world I would say Italy - a country which is so historical and romantic in its selv.
c) a location for a wedding reception in your home region?
My answer would still be the same like above; Copenhagen & Næsbyholm Slot
d) a location for a wedding reception in in the rest of the world?
Still the same answer as aboce :)
e) a country / region / hotel for a honeymoon?
If I should choose a hotel in Copenhagen, I would either choose the traditional Hotel D'Angleterre http://www.dangleterre.dk/ or the total opposite the First Hotel Skt. Petri , www.firsthotels.com/da/sktpetri

Have you organised weddings for prominent people?
I have been organising weddings for a couple of prominent people, please see below and the pictures are attached to this email. Furthermore there are already booked a couple of prominent weddings for next year, but in regards to the confidential agreements I cannot to tell you further details before the wedding is conducted.
- The captain of the danish national Footballteam Christian Poulsen
- The son of the Lego Family Thomas Kirk Kristiansen
- The daughter of the international clothing company Brantex Marie Louise Starup T.Larsen

Have you organised weddings for couples from outside your country?
Since launching Scandinavian Weddings in 2008, I have been arranging weddings for quite a lot of foreign couples. With my expressweddings my team and I conduct up to 5 weddings a week in average. Those couples come from various countries such as: USA, Germany, United Kingdom, Ireland, The Netherlands, Brasil, China, Italy, Japan, Italy etc.

Which strengths of your company would you like to mention?
I would say we are an very professional and international company, we are very complaisant, have a great cooperation with our business partners and couples. and are offering fast, non-bureaucratic and affordable weddings to our foreign couples.

Could you tell us a little story about something special that you have experienced during your work as a wedding planner?
We arranged an auction wedding which took place the 2. August 2008. We planned and designed a complete wedding package with the theme "3 coins in a Fountain" and auctionised it on the online-auctionside www.lauritz.com. The wedding was sold to the highest bit of around DKK 485.000 in May 2008 and was a huge success. I have attached a picture as well.

Is there any movie about your work?
We are participating in a danish television program, which is shown on Television on the 18. and 25.November 2010 and there are 3 more on the way. So hopefully we'll be able to post them on our website soon.

You might have heard about the upcoming new yearly event "Weddingparadises.com Wedding Planning World Championship" and the website www.youweddingplanner.com, where all multiple choice questions for the competition will be published soon. - If you could choose one question for this about something special in your home region: how would this question look like?
The question I would choose is the following: Is it possible for a same gender couples to get married in Denmark?
